Water Safety Instructor Blended Learning Course

(ages 16+)

About the Course:

This course provides candidates with the training that they need to plan and conduct courses within the American Red Cross Swimming and Water Safety guidelines. This training is the Gold Standard and provides the most comprehensive training for swim instructors.  The curriculum covers teaching progressions, lesson planning, recognizing common skill errors, and providing corrective feedback. Blending learning style is a combination of both in-person and online learning which accommodates individual learning styles and allows participants to learn at their own pace. Students have access to the online content for the period of certification and may log on as needed to reference content or refresh their knowledge.  This type of format allows instructors to focus on skill practice and assessment during all sessions, rather than lecture. Through video and hands-on skill building, the course features clearly described and applied teaching strategies.

Upon successful completion of all activities and written exams, students will receive an American Red Cross Water Safety Instructor Certificate.

Lifeguard certification is not required.
