About the Course:
Become a ceramicist and let your imagination run wild, projects may include animals, sports figures, super heroes, holiday gifts, and more. Classes will help develop dexterity, visual awareness, and creativity. Working with clay also has a calming effect which is a nice way to end the school day. No experience is necessary and fees include all materials.
We will experiment with different hand-building clay forms including pinch pots, coils, slabs, reliefs, and tiles. We will also explore various techniques in designing, texturing, patterning, and coloring. All clay and glazes used are non-toxic and firings are done off-site.
Instructor Michelle Beyman believes art and creating with clay is great for the mind, fingers, and soul. Participants will be notified by email when projects will be ready for pick up at the Recreation Center. For more information, please contact Michelle at (203) 247-0478 or by email.
