About the Course:
Build confidence, make new friends, learn musical theater skills, develop teamwork, and be in the fabulous and popular show to be determined. All children dance, sing, and act ON LIVE STAGE! Our youngest group in grades K-2, rehearse separately (until the last week). Because they are at rehearsal for a shorter time, they will be introduced to musical theater and all have charming ensemble roles in the main play. They too will dance, sing, and have a few speaking lines. The older group in grades 3-8, rehearse two1/2 hours a week; sometimes adding extra hours for special help. They have main roles with singing, dancing, and acting. Children in grades 3-8 are asked to please bring dinner with them to class.
Dinnertime is an opportunity amidst the hard, but fun work to stop and socialize a bit. A rehearsal CD and script are included; at times, we include a few simple costumes, but not always. Costumes are always simple to put together. The production is a testament to the hard work and will be a joy to bring family and friends to. In participation of this program, each family agrees to purchase six tickets at $8 each for the final performance. If two children are in one family one additional ticket must be purchased.
Please be prompt on the first day so the instructor can place your child in a great role. The roles will be assigned at the second class. No refunds are issued after the start date. This is due to the group commitment for the final performance. Everyone is important to the play! We appreciate your loyalty and commitment to the performance night. Children in grades 3-5 and grades 6-8 will have many rehearsals that are separate from each other. You will have the full schedule by the second week of classes.
