Pool Rules
The Aquatic Staff reserves the right to enforce rules necessary to maintain a healthy and safe environment.
- Non-swimmers and children needing a floatation device must have an adult in the water with them at all times. This includes the zero-entry portion of the pool.
- Recreation swimmers and Spray Bay participants MUST wear the swim band issued by Rec Center front desk.
- Swimmers must step down to gutter to jump in pool.
- A lifeguard must be present while the pool is in use. If attending a party, the lifeguard will speak with swimmers and adults on pool deck.
- Any party with children who have passed a swim test must have 1 adult on the pool deck for every 10 children attending the party. Everyone with a party must leave pool area at the appointed time.
- Shoes and strollers not permitted on the pool deck or Spray Bay.
- All persons must shower with warm water and soap before entering the pool or spray bay.
- Persons with severe infections, open cuts, bandages or wounds are not permitted in the water.
- No person may enter the pool area in an intoxicated condition.
- Spitting, blowing the nose, and spouting in the pool or Spray Bay is prohibited.
- Hairpins/bobby pins are not permitted in the pool.
- Running, horseplay, smoking, food and beverage, inflatable swim toys or glass containers not allowed in the pool area, Spray Bay or locker rooms. Plastic water bottles are allowed in pool area.
- Cut-off shorts, t-shirts, and disposable diapers not permitted in the pool.
- Infants and children who are not potty trained must wear tight-fitting rubber/nylon pants over cloth diapers /swim diapers.
- Non-swimmers and anyone wearing a flotation device prohibited on the slide.
- No hanging on the pool lane lines.
- All pool slide rules followed without exception.
- Guests 6 years & older must change in their gender appropriate locker rooms. Two family changing rooms are also available.
- Cell phone/video and/or picture taking is prohibited inside the pool area.
- Diving is PROHIBITED.
- Lap swimmers must follow ALL lap lane etiquette. Before entering lane, inform the other swimmer in the lane. Please see a lifeguard if you have questions.
- Use of kickboards, fins and pool buoys are for lap swimming only.
- Use of aqua belts and aqua dumbbells are for group exercise classes only.
- Use of scuba air tanks and underwater photographic equipment strictly prohibited in Rec Center pool.
- Mermaid Tails prohibited in Recreation Center pool, Barlow Mountain pool and Martin Park Beach.
