Muse Squad: Creative Writing Programs

About the Courses:

Muse Squad promotes a gathering place where young writers, regardless of previous experience, can delve into their craft. Students will learn literary devices, acquire skills on how to flesh out a story, become competent at character development, master dialogue, and support and inspire each other. By the end of the program, students will have the start of a novel, a short story, or several standalone pieces to put in their writing portfolio. Both classes conclude with a Final Reading and reception. Students must bring a notebook and pen (laptops are optional), and a drink and snack if desired. Claim your golden ticket and accompany Charlie Bucket on a magical journey into the fantastical world of Will Wonka's Chocolate Factory. Students will delve into textual excerpts from Roald Dahl's classic and timeless 1964 novel, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. We'll explore the rewards and consequences of the way we act and the immense power of imagination and creativity.
