About the Pioneers:
These young campers will have the benefit of experiencing traditional day camp activities in a nurturing, comfortable, and close to home environment. Pioneers will have a blast making friends, exploring new activities, developing skills, and engaging in cooperative play throughout the summer. We provide a counselor to camper ratio of 1:5 for personalized attention. All counselors have prior experience working with children and are fully trained to provide campers with a safe and enjoyable summer.
The Pioneers will stay on campus in order to enjoy numerous themed days and weekly in-house field trips such as a visit from a petting zoo, a magician or our Touch a Truck event. Campers will also participate in age appropriate games, songs, sports, nature activities, and arts & crafts. On various days, this group will enjoy running through sprinklers, playing water games on the fields, and splashing in the Spray Bay! Pioneers will have scheduled recreational swim time in the zero-entry section of the pool. Counselors will remain in the water with the campers, and lifeguards will be on duty.
In addition, you have the option to register your child for an American Red Cross certified swim lesson held in the mornings during select camp weeks. This is a separate registration from camp, and more information can be found at the Front Desk on or after June 5. Requests for a counselor to escort your camper to or from registered swim lessons can be made through the Camp Director by emailing campcoor@ridgefieldct.gov at least one week in advance.
All campers must be 4 years old by the start date of camp and 100% toilet trained. All daily activities are subject to change.
