Muse Squad Junior Summer Creative Writing Workshops

About the Courses:

Muse Squad Junior promotes a gathering place where young writers, regardless of previous experience, can delve into their craft. Students will learn literary devices, acquire skills on how to flesh out a story, become competent at character development, master dialogue, and support and inspire each other. The Anthologies: Joni Volume I & Volume II

This is a separate series of handbooks that combines music history and studying song lyrics to inspire creative writing. During the week-long summer course, each 2-hour gathering navigates the world of one of Joni Michell’s songs. Her soulful voice and the clarity in her poetry will guide students to produce their own profound metaphors, and explore universal themes, with an emphasis on rhythm and emotion. The week concludes with a Final Reading and reception.  Students must bring a notebook, pen, snack, and a drink (laptops are optional).
